Dated June 1, 1863. Nicely filled out for lots of equipment w/condition of each noted. Meas. 10” x 16”. Signed by Lt. B.F. Marshall R.Q.M. 111th Illinois Infantry. Folds, otherwise fine.
Benjamin F. Marshall was a resident of Salem, IL when he enlisted on 9/18/62 as a 1st Lt. Commissioned into Field & Staff 111th IL Inf. 9/18/62 promoted to 1st Lt. & QM. Resigned on 4/27/64. He returned to Salem after the war and was a member of GAR Post # 102 (J. S. Chandler) there. He died in 1891 and is buried in East Lawn Cemetery in Salem. [ss]
