Ohio Vol. Inf., pay to the / order of JOSEPH GRIMM, Sutler Two 50 Dollars, / and deduct the same from pay due me. / $250 “.  Stafford’s name is written in ink and he made his mark - an “X” - between his first and last names.

Jackson Stafford enlisted as a private at the age of 39 on 1/30/1865; on that date he mustered into Co. F, 188th OH Infantry. Date and method of discharge not given.
