Dated Sept. 13, 1864 and filled in for Pvt. William H. Howe, Co. K, 29th Massachusetts Infantry. Howe was wounded June 17, 1864 at Petersburg, VA. He would later be awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for action at Ft. Stedman on March 25, 1865. Document discharges him from the hospital “cured” and ordered to report for duty. Signed by the Surgeon in charge. Small section of top right and lower left corners missing. Scarce document.  [ss]
