Very nice unused patriotic cover with a 2nd Corps badge in the upper left corner with “2d CORPS, 2d DIVISION” in blue ink beneath the badge. Running at right angels to the badge is the printers name and the year “1863.”
The 2nd Corps was a hard fighting unit in the Army of the Potomac and was led by Major General Winfield Scott Hancock for most of the war. [ad]
