Pvt. Spang joined the 15^th on 8/22/62 at the age of 40. Born in 182, he was an accomplished artist. At some point he was transferred to Co. E. Mustered out on 6/21/65 at Nashville, TN. Spang died on 3/11/1898 and is buried in Montgomery Cemetery in West Norriton, Montgomery County, PA; others buried in this cemetery include Winfield S. Hancock, Samuel Zook and John Hartranft.
