An interesting broadside/table of the Civil War period headlined MERCHANDISE TARIFF. This broadside contains various listings of goods and shipping rate tables and weights, such as First, Second & Third class charges for materials (Live Stock, Wood & Bark per-cord, and all manor of items listed from ACIDS to WADDING) shipped to various locations from Boston, Massachusetts to New Hampshire. There are also the listings of rules and regulations concerning how items are to be packaged and handled. This broadside contains wonderful Mid-19TH Century typeset lettering, plus being entirely surrounded by graphic bordering. The broadside measurements are: 28 ¼” in length by 17 ½ in width and is printed on a yellow colored medium weight stock paper. As there cannot be too many survivors of these type documents available today, when the tables and rates changed these were discarded for the most updated versions. It would look absolutely fabulous professionally framed and hung on your office wall or with a Civil War era Railway collection. [tb]
