This group includes the following papers pertaining to the discharge and bounty payment due to Dallas M. Lee:

[1] “To all Whom it May Concern” copy of  Lee’s discharge from “United States Service for use of State of Maryland.”,  measuring 11.5 x 8”,  dated 7/17/1865, w/reverse endorsement for pay warrant of $75, dated Aug. 30,  sgd. by govt. clerk.  This pre-printed form  exhibits fold-marks, and light chipping at margins of fold-lines, else VG.

[2.] State of Maryland Bounty Certificate—“No. 90”—Office of County Commissioners for Caroline County. “Cash $150 Paid, Certificate for $100.”, dated August 13, 1864. This pre-printed certificate entitled Sgt. Lee to $100, payable in five monthly installments of $20, w/ a further promissory sum of $75 to by paid by the state at the expiration of service. Measures 6.5 x 7”. Exhibits light fold marks, else VG.

[3] State of Maryland, certificate of authenticity for the Justice of Peace—William W. Lowe—who authorized Lee’s final bounty payment of $75. Measures 7.5 x 4.5”, w/US 5cent stamp affixed.  Accompanied by Lowe’s handwritten order directing the treasurer of Maryland to to “pay to the order of Dallas, M. Lee, the sum of Seventy Five Dollars.” Exhibits fold-marks, light fading, and slight  bleeding of ink. Else VG.

Lee enlisted on 3/31/64 as a Sergeant.  On that date he mustered into Co. D, 2nd Maryland Infantry. Mustered out on 7/17/65 at Alexandria, VA.  Sergeant Lee and his discharge invites further research.
