Cover features glorious full page litho of a column of troops marching passing before the unfinished capitol dome—“Convalescent Soldiers Passing Through Washington To Join their Regiments.” Interior contains other fascinating full page lithos, including Winslow Homer’s famed Sharpshooter in a tree, “The Army of Potomac Sharpshooter on Picket Duty.” Centerfold features a panoramic and dramatic double spread: ”Surprise of Rebel Guerillas by a Squadron of United States Cavalry.” Also a intriguing map charting the track of the CSS Alabama and her merchant captures following her launching in Liverpool, England.”

Overall condition near mint, with tiny mounting dots along left margins, & small slight smudge in lower right cover corner. Excellent display issue. In protective sleeve.
