Vol.VI.—No. 301. 16 pp. [625-640] 4 columns, numerous stories and cartoons. Cover page features striking full page image of “General McClellan Entering the Town of Frederick, Maryland—The Popular Welcome.” This issue contains much Antietam coverage with many striking visual vignettes, along with commentary on Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation which, in Harper’s Weekly’s view, despite its limiting language, effectively abolished slavery in the U.S. for keeps.

Condition VG , with mounting dot marks along left margin, plus slight yellowing and smudging round cover margins. An attractive “Antietam” issue. Definitely a collectible. In protective sleeve, w/white card backing.
