Although this plan was put into effect, and was effective over the long haul, the aged Scott was removed from command and replaced by Gen. George B. McClellan in November 1861. Interior stories feature “The Great Naval Expedition” [to Port Royal Sound, SC], including a full page illustration of 25 ships—“The Great Expedition—The Vessels at Hampton Roads Previous to Departure.” Also news and illustrations of Gen. Fremont’s in Missouri.

Exhibits mounting dots along left margins. Small slight chip of rear page, very slight soiling. Else VG to fine, tight and attractive. Good Harper’s Weekly specimen, solid collectible. In protective sleeve, in white protective sleeve.
