Donelson, TN, February 16, 1862.  Interior illustrations include a full page montage showing  “The Capture of Ft. Henry, Tennessee.” Also portrait sketches of General Burnside and Flag-Officer Goldsborough, page 135, and a full page depicting the “Gallant Charge of the Hawkins’s Zouaves Upon the Rebel Batteries on Roanoke Island.” Plus five highly entertaining rear cover cartoons.
Exhibits mounting dots along the left margin, and very slight soiling  along the right margin. Else VG plus, w/smooth cover. The first of two issues [March 1 & 15] covering the Battle of Fort Donelson. Solid collectible. In protective sleeve, w/ white card backing.
