Front features two river illustrations related to Grant’s developing Vicksburg Campaign—[1] “Break In The Mississippi Levee Near the Canal At Vicksburg,”, [2] “Cutting Away the Dam at the Head of the Vicksburg Canal.” Interior illustrations include three treating the Union Army of the Cumberland, along with two magnificent full-page sketches of “A Wedding in the Army of the Potomac”, and “A Night Scout in the Southwest—Surprise of An Outpost.” Plus intriguing sketches of the “Arrival of a Federal Column at a Planter’s House In Dixie”, and the “Sale of Confiscated Blood-Horses at New Orleans.”
Exhibits mounting dots and slight chipping along left margin. Else near pristine, w/smooth cover. Superb collectible, w/many sumptuous illustrations. In protective sleeve, w/white card backing.
