Front cover features illustrations [1] “The “Lady Davis,” Two Guns, Ship of War of the Southern Confederacy”, [2] “Rhode Island Artillery Landing From the Steamer “Bienville” at Washington Arsenal, on April 25.” Interior contains stories and illustrations of “Colonel Ellsworth’s New York’s Fire Zouaves” and “Colonel Wilson and His Staff [Wilson’s Fighting Brigade]”. This latter group was formed of New York “Roughs” and “B’hoy’s” pledged to fight to the death in when passing through secessionist Baltimore in route to the capitol. Also an illustration of “The Battery or Park Promenade at Charleston, South Carolina, During the Bombardment of Fort Sumter.”
All pages are separated, and appear to have been trimmed along their edges. Else near fine. Excellent collectible.
