Front cover features story and illustration of “The Ironclad Gun-Boat “Cincinnati”, sunk at Vicksburg. [At this point Grant had closed the ring round Vicksburg, which would surrender in two weeks.] Also a sketch of “the Monster Tent Erected at Chicago For the Canal Convention”. Interior illustrations include a magnificent depiction of the “Departure of General Banks’s Troops From Simmesport, Louisiana, for Port Hudson, May 21, 1863.” Plus a panoramic view of the “Triumphal Entry of The Army of Major-General Banks Into Alexandria, Louisiana, May 4, 1863.”

Exhibits mounting dots and light chipping along the left margin. Else near mint, w/smooth cover. Superb piece. In protective sleeve, w/white card backing.
