Interior illustrations include two panoramic scenes—“Action of the Second Division, Fifth Corps, With Rebels On Rowanty Creek, February 5, 1865.” and “Charge of the First Division, Fifth Corps, On the Rebel Breast-Works, February 7, 1865.” Plus a spectacular center-fold —“Home Again!-The Story of A Life In Rebel Prisons”—depicting a returned prisoner telling his tale to folks gathered round the family hearth.
