Vol. VI—No. 268. 16 pp. [97-112], four columns, with numerous stories, illustrations and cartoons. Front cover features a panoramic harbor view of “The “Nashville” [CSS] and the “Tuscarora”[USS} at Southampton, England.” [Both ships in an “in-port” standoff, with the Royal Navy alongside to see that it remained that way.] Interior illustrations include a montage of sketches of “The Burnside Expedition at Hatteras Inlet.” Plus a dramatic centerfold depicting “The Wreck of the “City of New York,” of the Burnside Expedition, Off Hatteras Outlet.” Also an action sketch of “The Bloody Fight at Occoquan, VA.”—as well as a sketch of the British executing Indian prisoner by tying and blowing them from cannon barrels.

Exhibits mounting dots and a very slight chipping along left cover margin. Else near mint, w/smooth, clean cover. Fine collectible, superb illustrations. In protective sleeve, w/ white card cover.     [jp]
