Front cover features full page illustration “View of General Butler’s Dutch Gap Canal Before the Explosion of the Bulk-Head.” Also a center-fold montage of “Views in & around Savannah, GA”, which had capitulated to Sherman’s forces just prior to Christmas.” Plus a full page depiction of Union soldier Savannah new paper office—captioned. “The Union Army Entered Savannah on the 21st of December, And On the 24th the First Number of the Loyal Georgian Was Issued.”
