The front covers features a fine full length portrait sketch of Major General Winfield Scott Hancock, Grant’s Second Corps commander. Interior illustrations include a fine full length portrait of Grant himself, quoting the general in caption: “We have now ended the Sixth Day of very hard fighting. I propose to fight it out on this Line, if it takes all Summer.” Plus a panoramic action page of “Bartlett’s Brigade of General Warren’s [5th] Corps Charging the Enemy.” Also an Army of the Potomac montage that includes a depiction of “Hancock’s Corps Crossing the Rapidan, Wednesday, May 4, 1864.”

Exhibits mounting dots along the left cover margin. Centerfold loose and in two pieces. Else VG, w/smooth cover. Chock full of fine “Overland Campaign “ illustrations An issue as superb as “Hancock the Superb” himself. In protective sleeve, w/white card backing.  [JP]
