Front cover features a full page depiction a scene from “The War In Tennessee—Reception of General Burnside By the Unionists of Knoxville.” Interior illustrations include an intriguing   page of scenes from “The Life of a Spy”—[“In the Enemy’s Works”, “Who Goes There?”, “Booty”, “Safe Return”,  “In Pursuit”,  “Sentence” [hanging], “Telling His Adventures”.] Also scenes from the Army of the Potomac—“The Blue Ridge From General Shaler’s Headquarters”, Somerville Ford On the Rapidan. Sixty Ninth Pennsylvania  Volunteers, Webb’s Brigade, On Picket.” Plus a “View of Richmond, VA., From the Libby Prison.” Stunningly patriotic “Honor the Brave” centerfold.

Exhibits mounting dots and light chipping along the left cover margin. Else VG plus, w/smooth flat cover. Superb issue, great illustrations. In protective sleeve, w/white card backing.  [jp]
