Front story features page depiction of “The Rebel Steamer “Nashville” Running the Blockade at Beaufort, North Carolina.” Interior illustrations include map of Beaufort and a full-page “Birds-Eye View of the Attack on the Rebel Batteries on and near Island Number Ten, Commodore Foote’s Squadron, and another page of bombardment scenes. Plus a map of the Mississippi River from St. Louis, past Island No. 10, down to New Orleans. Plus a page of sketches of Camp Douglas, near Chicago, and Confederate prisoners of war quartered there.

Exhibits mounting dots and light chipping of spine. Else VG plus, w/smooth cover. Superb early-war issue. In protective sleeve, w/white card backing.  [JP]
