Front page features large centered map, titled: “The Expedition To New Orleans”, which shows “the Situation of the Rebel Forts on the Lower Mississippi, and the Position of our Gun and Mortar Boats on the River Playing on them.” Also the position of Union ships “Hartford, Oneida, Richmond, Brooklyn and Pensacola” as they follow up river toward Forts Jackson and St. Philip.  Accompanying stories include:  “The Capture of New Orleans”,  “A Six Days Bombardment”,  “Five Sloops of War  and Nine Gunboats Run the Gauntlet of the Forts.”  Interior new stories include: “Movements of Garibaldi”, “Honorable W. E. Gladstone on the American War”, “Progress of the Rebellion In China”.

Exhibits light wrinkling and chipping at the margins, and slight foxing throughout. Solid collectible, especially for New Orleans Civil War aficionados. In protective sleeve, w/white card backing.  [jp]
