Dr. Muhlenburg. Interior illustrations include a pair featuring actions of the Army of the Potomac at Kelly’s Ford, including Sleeper’s Massachusetts Battery, as well as a magnificent double page double-page centerfold—“THANKSGIVING DAY/ THE UNION ALTAR, featuring surrounding vignettes—“The Army,”—"The Navy”—”Washington/Lincoln”—"Town”—"Country”—“Emancipation.” “Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1863.” Also a grisly depiction of “The Prisons at Richmond—Union Troops Prisoners at Belle Isle.”

Exhibits chipping dots along left margin. Else near pristine. Superb issue with extraordinary Thanksgiving centerpiece. Excellent collectible. In protective sleeve, w/white card backing.   [JP]
