Front pages features fascinating sketches of the “Berdan’s Sharpshooters at Weehauken,” including a portrait of “Capt. A.B. Jones, N. Hampshire Sharpshooters” and a fine illustration of the “Telescopic Rife—Weight 32 lbs.—Diameter of Barrel 2 ½ inches. 42 balls to the pound.” Interior illustrations depicts “United States Mississippi Gunboats Being Built at Carondelet Near St. Louis,”  “Rebel Prisoners in the Dungeon of the State House at Jefferson City, Missouri,” and “The Ascent of Gauley Mountain, In Western Virginia, By the Twelfth Ohio Regiment.” With stories to match, and an excellent rear cover “General Jack Frost” cartoon.

Exhibits mounting dots on left margin. Else fine, w/smooth & handsome cover. Incredibly superb collectible for Berdan’s Sharpshooter aficionado, nicely frame-able. In protective sleeve w/ white card backing.    [JP]
