Book contains issues of the Pepin County Press newspaper of Pepin, Wisconsin. Each newspaper is approx. 4 pages in length. It is cataloged by Volume and Number in the upper left hand corner and it is also numbered sequentially in the upper right hand corner. The papers begin with Volume 1 No.1 and go through to Volume 2 No. 47. The whole run sequentially goes from 1 to 99 but the following are missing 21, 23, 26, 52, 62, 74, 81, and 87. The paper starts with the June 2, 1860 issue and runs to May 17, 1862. All pages are clean and solid. Only 2 or 3 pages are printed too light to read. Some of the events mentioned in these papers are the election of 1860, Fort Sumter, 1st Bull Run and Shiloh not to mention many small tidbits of information a student of the Civil War would find interesting.
