This endorsement by Sheridan was signed 12 days after he assumed command of the Middle Military Division, which included command of the troops of the Army of the Shenandoah. Sheridan was sent to the Valley to root out the Confederates led by General Jubal Early. Sheridan laid waste to the Valley and eventually destroyed Early's forces.
This item is professionally framed, to include double matting and museum quality plexiglass. The piece measures approximately 13.5” X 9.5” in size.
