For use on the 11mm Model 1874 Gras Rifle. The Model 1874 was a conversion of the chassepot Model 1866 rifle. Named after the French officer who developed the conversion.
These bayonets were produced for the French government at the state arms factories.
The blade is marked with the factory, month and year. This example marked St. Etienne, Feb. 1879.
Original blue on scabbard, nice clean blade and grips.
