The blade meas. approx. 20.00 inches long with a 14.00 inch unstopped central fuller. The blade’s surface has light scattered mottling throughout its surface. Both the true and the false edge have some dark discoloration over several inches. The ricasso has no visible markings. There are several small nicks on the blade edge.
The bayonet has a cast brass ribbed grip with a working bar and button attachment mechanism. The brass counterguard has a barrel band at top and round quillon at bottom. Guard is stamped with a letter “C” on both sides.
Leather scabbard is in good condition. The leather surface has some minor surface crazing but is otherwise nice. Both the brass throat and tip are present and the rear seam is tightly closed.
All brass wears a pleasing light patina. [ad]
