This is the Model 1855 socket bayonet for Springfield rifle muskets. Measures approximately 21” overall. This specimen features a dark gray color overall with scattered “speckles” of surface pitting over the blade. Complete with locking ring and screw. Large “US” clearly stamped on blade flat. Lightly stamped “K / 17” on the side of the socket. [jet]
