Leather is in good used condition. The scabbard body shows only light wear with no weak spots. Frog shows more moderate wear and is of the 7 rivet variety. Brass finial is firmly attached and has several dents and a light surface patina.
The Model 1855 bayonet itself has a semi-bright blade with light mottling while the “knuckle” area and socket have a darker patina. Locking ring is works properly. Clear thin “US” stamped on blade flat. [ad]
