Completely blued socket bayonet that still retains all of the original finish throughout. Locking ring works well and blade has a crisp "US."

Metal scabbard has all of its original finish with just small scattered amounts of oxidation. Leather frog is excellent and shows some light surface wear. Stitching is tight. Attached is a large brass hook anchored to the leather frog by a "U.S." rosette. Brass has a nice light patina. There is some verdigris on the leather from contact with the brass but this can easily be cleaned off. Hook does move properly. [AD]
