This is a very good example of the type of bayonet used on the Model 1842 Musket. Measures approximately 20 ½” overall. This specimen features a bright finish. Complete with locking ring and screw. Large “U.S.” stamped on blade flat.
Black leather scabbard is likewise in very good condition. Scabbard is complete with brass tip and two-rivet style frog. Stitching is complete and remains tight. Some minor finish crazing at throat and one small scuff on body of scabbard, otherwise a perfect set. [jet]
