Fine condition Austrian bayonet with characteristic slanted mortise and four-sided blade. Measures 22” long with much original blue remaining, especially on socket. The locking ring mounted on the socket moves well but screw slot shows some wear. Numbers and proof marks stamped on the “elbow”.
The leather scabbard is also in very fine condition. Measures approximately 19 ¾” long overall. Iron throat features characteristic “X” opening for the four-sided bayonet. Throat has integral 3” long belt hook attached. Bottom of scabbard is closed with an iron tip featuring a small ball at the end. Leather body remains in excellent shape. There is no cracking, crazing, or scuffs on the leather. Stitching along the length of the scabbard is tight and unbroken. There is an “S” stamped in leather to the right of hook.
An exceptional set for anyone with a Lorenz rifle. [jet]
