The bayonet is approximately 27 ¼” overall with a 22 ¼” long blade. “COLLINS & CO / HARTFORD / CONN” stamped on the ricasso. Fuller is about 17” long. It is a dark pewter color with patchy oxidation. There are no nicks on the blade. The hilt is cast brass. The patina is a nice and untouched. Marked in the flat of the handle is “2788”. The cross guard, ribbed grip, and locking spring in the handle are all in very good condition. [jet]
