US MODEL 1835-40 BAYONET

$195.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 1037-430

This bayonet would have been issued with the M1835 flintlock or possibly a conversion musket. The M1835 flintlock was the last pattern flintlock musket produced by U.S arsenals.  The bayonet’s triangular blade measures 18” with a dark brown patina. ‘US’ is stamped on the shank.  The socket has a ‘zig-zag’ mortise and is slightly brighter than the blade.  The socket ring moves smoothly and the screw is in condition.  Overall a nice example of an accoutrement for the final U.S M1835 issued flintlock and/or conversion musket.    [MK]
