This accoutrement is an original angular socket bayonet made for the US Flintlock Musket Model 1808 and possibly a transition bayonet for the Model 1812 longarm. The triangular blade style is of the M1795 but the bayonet has a thicker neck configuration like the Model 1808/1812 bayonet. Spear shape blade and no locking ring. Measures 18 3/8” long with a socket 3 3/8” long. Letter “N” stamped near mortise. Nice dark patina. [ws]
