The overall length of this knife is approx. 19.25 inches. The handle is approx. 4.50 inches long and is made up of alternating pieces of wood separated by brass rings with thick brass ferrules on each end. There is some minor wear to the handle and it a slight twist will loosen it some. The cap of the handle has a token attached to it that reads “BROAS PIE BAKER-41ST ST. N.Y.” with “ONE COUNTRY” at center.

Below the handle is a brass “S” shaped guard that has darkened with age. The guard is still firmly held in place with no wiggling.

The double edged blade meas. approx. 14.50 inches and appears to have been made out of a file. The edges have numerous small nicks that can be felt but not readily seen. The blade is semi-bright with light mottling on both sides. There is no rust or pitting.

With the knife is a crudely made leather sheath. It is basically made out of a strip of leather that was folded over the blade and sewn rather crudely. The bottom half of the back seam was done very crudely whereas the upper half of the seam was done by a more skilled hand. Overall the seam still holds well.  The front of the scabbard has two parallel lines running down the edge. These look like a crude attempt at decoration. These lines are nothing more than shallow cuts in the leather surface.

When placed in the sheath there is about a 0.25 inch gap between the throat and the guard due to some shrinking of the leather over the years.

Overall this is a very interesting bowie knife.
