Blued blade meas. approx. 10.25 inches long. Bluing is rubbed some from the blade being taken in and out of the scabbard. About 90% of the bluing remains with the edge bright. Edge shows some wear but no nicks. One side of the ricasso is marked “US MOD 1917 C. T.” in two lines while the other is faintly marked “PLUMB ST. LOUIS 1918” also in two lines. These markings are not crisp but they are readable. Flat iron counterguard is also blued and has a punched hole. The wood grip has a lightly ribbed surface and is anchored by 2 slotted screws. Pommel cap is iron and has darkened with age.
The scabbard has a khaki canvas covered body with a sewn leather tip. The leather is marked “A. K. CO. 1918 R. H. S.” in three lines. Scabbard has metal throat. Reverse of the scabbard has belt attachment hooks near the top. Scabbard shows some light wear but nothing serious.
