The bolo meas. approx. 15.00 inches overall with a pointed blade approx. 10.25 inches long.

The blade surface is lightly mottled and the true edge has been sharpened. Ricasso is marked on one side with “U.S.” over “MOD-1917” while the opposite side has “PLUMB” over “PHILA.’ over a faint “1918.”

Wood grips are held in place by two screws. Wood surface shows light wear. Bird head pommel is heavy brass. Counterguard is iron with a hole on each side of the handle.

Scabbard has brass throat with OD canvas body and leather tip. Leather is in good condition and marked “FRED MEDART MFG. CO. 1918.” Canvas body has light to moderate surface dirt. Brass hangers for attaching to the belt are present. [ad]
