A very nice condition German dagger for the SA. Mint condition brown grips with an eagle and swastika mounted at center and SA monogram at top of the obverse. The scabbard shows full paint coverage with no nicks or chips. The mounts are plated and have a superb mirror finish, showing just minute lifting on the upper edge of the crossguard at the grip. The blade is bright and the “alles fur Deutschland” blade motto is crisp. The RZM M7/36 blade stamp of the Horster firm is perfect on the reverse of the blade near the base. With this is its original M33 hanger with the clasp marked RZM M5/71 and “OLC” in a diamond for Overhoff and Company of Ludenscheid. The grips show slightly lighter brown than the scabbard paint. SS daggers tend to be more uniform, but a slight difference in tone is not unusual in SA daggers. A very nice example that would be difficult to improve upon. [sr]
