The tapering spear-pointed blade measures 7.5” in length, and 1.25” in width at the base; the diamond-shaped iron cross guard measures 3.5”, and the wooden handle 4.75”. The crudely made blade & crossguard exhibit moderate rust & tarnish. The equally crude handle has been shaped with a birds-head pommel, & is held in place with two brass rivets, & is slightly loose. The leather sheath measures 7.5, and, is too fragile and worn to actually sheath the knife. Nonetheless, it exhibits the rough characteristics of Confederate tanning processes, and is a perfect match for the crudely-made, but deadly, Confederate blade. An excellent side knife collectible.
