Obverse ricasso marking: crown/ “GF” in cursive script. Slightly curved blade, measuring 25” in length, 1.375” in with at base, with upper fuller extending to within 6” of tip. Exhibits medium gray patina, with light age spotting & pitting. Else VG.
Iron hilt assembly is tight and symmetrical, with “D” shaped knuckle guard, with kidney shaped cross guard below. Solid bone handle, yellowing color, riveted in, with tang rivet atop the pommel. Overall, VG plus, and attractive. Fine colonial-era cutlass. With accompanying brass museum tag [“K143675/1750/ Colonial & Br. Blade.] Excellent collectible.
