Offered is a type two saber dated 1861. The 32 ¼ inch blade is a dusky semi-bright patina. The obverse is marked U.S / JT / 1861. The reverse is marked MADE BY / AMES MFG CO. / CHICOPEE / MASS.

The hilt is flat with the original leather washer. It has a nice untouched patina. The dome is stamped JH and it also has what appears to be LOM engraved in script. The number 22, which is probably a rack number is stamped on the guard.
