Overall length 25”, with 19.5” spear shaped blade, measuring 1.5” at base. This blade has all the tell-tale characteristics of Confederate versions of the U.S. artillery sword, beginning with its total lack of markings. Then too, the blade is missing the characteristic U.S. “fuller” down its center. The brass, rib-gripped hilt is crudely cast, a third characteristic of Confederate artillery sword. Hilt and blade exhibit a dark plum colored patina, with the blade displaying light to medium pitting from base to tip. Else VG, with tight hilt. In all, an attractive piece. Solid Confederate artillery collectible.
