This model was one of the many weapons produced by the Ames Manufacturing Company of Chicopee, MA, during the Civil War. Very bright, untouched blade measures 36” in length. Very strong markings “US/A.D.K./1863”, with the standard Ames markings on the reverse side. First line of stamp faint. Blade in perfect condition. Brass hilt, knuckle bow 6” in length. Very nice leather grip with the original brass wire. Steel scabbard complete and in excellent condition. Inspector’s initials on the drag, “A.D.K.”
