The drawn saber measures approx. 40.50 inches long from point to pommel. The blade has a nice semi-bright surface with light to moderate mottling. The point has the heaviest mottling and some surface pitting. There are also two darker spots on one side that also show some pitting. The largest of the spots is 0.75 of an inch x 0.50 an inch. The blade meas. approx. 34.75 inches long with a 24.50 inch unstopped fuller. Edge has several small nicks scattered over its length. Both ricasso are blank. Leather washer is present and complete.
Hilt has crudely cast three branch knucklebow and guard with a turned down quillon. File marks are visible along its edge. Brass pommel cap is of the Phrygian pattern and slightly domed. The wood grip is tightly covered in brown leather that shows only light wear. It is wrapped by two strands of straight wire which is complete in all its courses. Guard wiggles a bit. All brass wears a semi-dark patina.
Metal scabbard is dark and crudely formed. An obvious seam runs down the back of the scabbard. There is no drag. The bottom of the scabbard is bent over to protect the point of the saber.
