SHARPS CARBINE CONVERSION FOR THE METALLIC CARTRIDGE

$1,950.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 1000-422

Presented here is a Sharps carbine factory-alteration specimen designed to use a centerfire, metallic, self-contained cartridge.

Carbine is in good overall condition with serial number “C29084” stamped on receiver tang. Round .52 barrel meas. approx. 22.00 inches long and retains almost all of its original blue. Proper front and rear sights are present. Strong maker’s mark is present in three lines in front of the rear sight and an equally strong “NEW MODEL 1863” is present behind the sight. Bore has very good rifling with only light scattered dust and dirt.

Receiver, lockplate and hammer have hints of case color. Breechblock operates properly and has a cam firing pin. Action works properly. Markings on lock and receiver are crisp.

Walnut stock is in very nice condition. Left side has sling bar and ring but no inspector’s cartouche. Wood has only very few scratches and no cracks.

Buttplate and triggerguard are dark but still show some color. Screw heads show a little wear.

Very attractive conversion. [ad]
