Cal. .50 percussion. S/N 4026. Early production by Massachusetts Arms with sling swivels. All iron surfaces have been cleaned and have a gray color with a scattered peppery look with some light pitting remaining. All markings typical to Mass. Arms production are visible though small areas are partially obscured by light pitting. The bore is strong and mostly bright having a few small patches. The stocks are cleaned smooth and refinished. There is a 2" long chip at top rear of foreend. The buttstock has some chipping common to Smith carbines at the top of wrist at receiver. Attractive color and grain with traces of cartouches.
