TOMPION FOR THE PATTERN 1853 ENFIELD

$50.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 362-767

This tompion has a cork body with a brass cap and base. Cork body is intact. The brass cap and base have a nice dark patina, with some original gilt showing.

A tompion was used by placing it in the muzzle of a musket or rifle to keep moisture and dampness out. The brass cap and base show that this tampion is meant for use with the Pattern 1853 Enfield rifle.  [SM]
