EXTREMELY RARE CONFEDERATE GANG MOLD – AUGUSTA ARSENAL

$6,500.00 SOLD

Quantity Available: None

Item Code: 1000-1397

Here is a one of a kind Confederate item!  This is a massive iron bullet mold from Augusta Arsenal that cast six .69 caliber three-groove Minie balls. Measures approximately 15” overall.

Constructed of three main sections, all hinged together at the front, and each with a wood handle. Two sections form the bullet cavity while the third has the cone-cavity forms and funnels.  The bullets from this mold were “lip cast”.

Top surface is stamped “C-S-A-“ and the left side is stamped “AUGUSTA / -GA-“. The right side of the mold has what appears to be “J.H.C.” hand cut into the iron.

This unique mold remains in very good condition and is a rare example from one of the primary Confederate arsenals.  [jet]
