Nice original tin container about ¾ full of Civil War musket caps. Some of the original paper label remains on the lid but, unfortunately a previous owner thought that taping the label down was a good idea, which has pretty much destroyed it.
Container is in good condition, lid is very tight, majority of the “Japanned” finish is gone. Filled with copper musket caps. Many of them are maker-marked with “GOLDMARK” stamped atop each. These are definitely Civil War era percussion caps as similar specimens have been excavated on many Civil War sites, including Gettysburg. [jet]
